Captain's Blog, Entry #1

Captain's Blog, Entry #1

Hello!  Welcome!  I am so excited that you are here and spending your precious and valuable time with me at Adrift Again!  I am so very excited to be able to connect with my crew that supports and loves the whimsy that Adrift Again gives.  I could go on and on about how eternally grateful I am, but perhaps we'll be able to meet in person some time and I'll shake your hand (or give you a hug!) and be able to give you my sincere appreciation in person.

Since this is my very 1st Captain's Blog, I suppose you should know a few things about me that may make your reading more enjoyable.  First off, I'm terrible at grammar.  I send my poor sister running amok and pulling her hair out about my forgotten apostrophe's, poor spelling, and very poor sentence structure.  My son, is running for the hills right behind her due to my overly used exclamation marks and my poor (or forgotten) comma placement.  C'est la vie!  (Sure I hope I used that apostrophe right!)  If you are a grammar hound and find yourself reading this, I apologize and hope you can forgive the many errors that will be forthcoming!

I will be writing in my Captain's Blog several times a month.  I hope to be reporting good news about Adrift Again's growth (we have nowhere to go but up!), and where we'll be, new products, and most importantly, introducing new Skelly's & Skella's that will bring a smile to your face.

I'll also be sharing random pictures which inspire me that come from my daily life.  I have a very rich and active close family with grandchildren underfoot daily, chickens, ducks, and our rabbit, correctly named "The General", needing care, and of course, my truest furry friend ever, Cortez, my gentle giant of a Sheepadoodle.  I hope you enjoy a peak into my inspirations and where my foundation of kindness and color palette flow from.

In the coming months I'll let you know about each of my character's, their history and the little gems that I sometimes hide in my drawings.  Why I choose to zig instead of zag, or why a favorite song of mine sometimes shows up in my brain in brilliant hues that I just have to try to capture.  I hope you enjoy their history and that you can connect with a special Skelly or Skella that brings a smile to your face, every day.

Well, it's time for me to go at this moment.  My day job as of this date happens to be needing my attention (I'm an appraiser who specializes in the legal arena) and currently I am working in Maui.

I have so much to share and I am truly excited about all of the new adventures that Adrift Again will be on and to share them with you.  Again, thank you for stopping by and until next time, remember to be kinder than necessary to those around you and especially to yourself.

Take care,

dz
